What has Sylvia been getting into behind the scenes?
Today, we’re looking at a portion of the prologue for book two to get an idea of what may be facing Fallon and Brent within their own personal struggles with their peers from Willow Bay University.
Small hint: Sylvia isn’t the only big bad coming their way.
I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens…
Prologue Sneak Peek
“Hello everyone, I am saddened with the news of a robbery gone wrong, leaving my niece unable to be found.” Sylvia looked down, feigning a saddened expression, hoping for the crowds empathy. She took a deep breath in, hoping to appear as a mourning aunt ready to lead her deceased sister’s company while looking for her missing kin. “If anyone has any information on her whereabouts the number is on the screens before you or on your TV at home. This is a high profile case, but Montgomery Group will continue as usual. These people will not bring down the Montgomery family.”
Murmurs spread across the audience and Sylvia gave a small, sad smile.
She stepped off stage to let the lead investigator have his speech on the podium about crime and robberies. Turning to her right hand, David, she leaned in to whisper to him.
“You need to find me that girl.”
“We’re already on it,” he nodded to her, face neutral, knowing there were cameras around. “We have footage of her escaping with that guard of hers. They couldn’t have gone far with his injuries. We’re looking into nearby hospitals and contacts who may have caught sight of them.”
She leaned into him, hand on her forehead to hide her face. “We need to find her first. I want every eye we have looking for her—the little bitch couldn’t have gone far.”
The staged robbery was meant to look botched, not be botched. Hiring men to do the work for you was a pain in the ass, and if you wanted to do things right, you had to do them yourself. Sylvia was no stranger to that fact. She successfully took everything from her sister with her own two hands, but the little girl was just a liability at this point.
David and Sylvia left the prying eyes of the crowd to start their plan to find the missing heir to Montgomery Group. Keeping her silent and away from the business was their top priority.
He pulled out his phone, calling heads of their teams to start planning on how to get the girl back under their control.
I am so excited for this book 😍 I was obviously hooked on book 1 and now this teaser?? 😭 Patiently waiting 🤣
